This policy explains what we do with the personal information you give us through this website. It is written to describe this website specifically, rather than as a general statement, so you can see exactly what happens to what you send us.

Who We Are

Arranmac Professional Painting & Decorating is the data controller for the information described here.

If you have a question about this policy or about how we handle your information, email us at the address above and mark it for the attention of Duncan.

What We Collect

We only collect personal information that you choose to send us. There are no accounts to create on this website, no newsletter to sign up to and no comment sections.

When you complete an enquiry form, we ask for:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your telephone number
  • a description of the work you are enquiring about

Some of our forms also ask for the type of job and the address of the property, so we can give you a more accurate answer. Those fields are optional and you can leave them blank.

If you call or email us directly instead, we hold whatever you choose to tell us in that call or message.

We do not collect special category data, and we ask you not to send us any. There is no need to include health information, financial details or anything similar in a decorating enquiry.

How We Use It

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, to arrange a site visit where one is needed, to prepare and send you a quote, and to carry out and manage any work you go on to instruct us to do.

Under the UK GDPR, our lawful bases are:

  • Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — replying to your enquiry, visiting the property and quoting for the work.
  • Performance of a contract — where you accept a quote and we carry out the work.
  • Our legitimate interests — keeping a record of enquiries and completed jobs so we can answer questions about work we have done, and running our business efficiently.
  • Legal obligation — keeping records we are required to keep, for example for tax purposes.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it or pass it to anyone for marketing.

Who We Share It With

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and handle enquiries. They process your information on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

  • Cloudflare — hosts this website and delivers the pages to your browser.
  • HighLevel — the customer relationship system where enquiries are recorded, so nothing gets lost between the form and a reply.
  • Resend — delivers the notification email that tells us an enquiry has come in.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, which means your information may be transferred internationally. Where that happens, the transfer is made under the safeguards that UK data protection law requires for transfers of this kind.

We will also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

How Long We Keep It

We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for 24 months, so that we can pick up the thread if you come back to us. After that they are deleted.

Where you become a customer, we keep the job record and the associated paperwork for six years after the work is completed. That period reflects the time limits for contract claims and HMRC’s record-keeping requirements.

Keeping It Secure

This website is served entirely over an encrypted connection, and enquiry forms are submitted the same way. Access to the systems that hold enquiries is limited to the people at Arranmac who need it to do their job.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the protection of your information seriously and review how we handle it.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies of its own. Our cookies policy explains this in full, including the one third-party embed that appears on our contact page.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • have inaccurate information corrected
  • ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information
  • object to us using your information on the basis of our legitimate interests
  • ask us to transfer your information to another provider, in certain circumstances

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would ask you to raise it with us first so we have the chance to put it right.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle personal information — for example if we add website analytics — we will update this page and change the date at the top. This policy was last updated on the date shown above.
